About Us

¡Vota Ya!, is a voter engagement organization founded in 2016. The organization exists to empower Latinos throughout California, by providing services that include; registering Latinos to vote, assisting in helping U.S residents become U.S citizens, providing civic education courses that help make local government palatable, and providing a force for turnout on Election Day.

¡Vota Ya! focuses on all neighborhoods within the State of California that have dense Latinos populations in the effort to engage, educate, register and mobilize Latino residents, so that they can become empowered agents for change in their communities.

Latino voter registration, engagement, and turnout is at a historic low Nationally, and Statewide. We see clear evidence indicating that Latino lack of registering and turning out for elections impacts attempts at equitable representation within the Legislative branch. Despite making up roughly 39% of California’s population, Statewide, Latinos only make up 12% of the State Senate, 23.8% of the State Assembly, 9.8% of County Supervisors, and 14.6% of local City Councils.

Voting is critical to ensuring we elect Latino representatives, and is key to gaining political power and influencing policies which affect our schools, parks, businesses, homes, transportation systems and more. ¡Vota Ya! is determined to do its part in changing the political reality for Latinos throughout the State.

With so much at stake politically at the Local, State and National levels, ¡Vota Ya! advances equity by focusing on empowering Latinos to become actively involved in the civic processes that deeply influence their lives.
